A Partner Who Understands the Unique Challenge of Summer Programs
Stock Pot delivers healthy, fresh, SFSP-compliant meals to your summer program or camp.

The Hungry Kids of Summer
We all remember the joys of summer: swimming in a pool or lake, playing catch in the park, discovering one’s artistic ability, or making new friends.
We probably also remember how much these activities made us voracious and anxious to know what was for lunch. Too often, the ever-returning bag of chips, stale turkey-on-white sandwich and scrawny green apple was a letdown.
It does not have to be that way! At Stock Pot Malden, we think that a summer menu can be a lot more than DESE-compliant mediocrity. It should be a moment of joy and fulfillment for the kids, on a par with the first kayak ride or the goal they just scored at soccer.
Welcome to Stock Pot Malden’s summer meal program!
We Market “Open Sites” Until All Kids are Fed
Open sites are a challenge since kids there are not part of a formal program managed by a leader and may not spontaneously find their way to the free meals. Swimming pools or parks are example of such venues.
In these situations, we do more than drop the meals and stay the contractual length of time required by the sponsor (typically 15 or 30 minutes). We actively market the meals on-site through highly visible signage, verbally engage local venue personnel and kids walking by, and stay on-site until all meals are gone.
We also work with sponsors throughout the summer to adjust the time of delivery to maximize uptake by the kids. Offering meals at 10:30 am as kids arrive at the swimming pool is not as good as offering the same meals at noon to ravenous children who have been swimming for an hour-and-a-half or more.

Why Summer Programs Choose Stock Pot Malden
Summer Programs are challenging for food service vendors because they constitute a fragmented market made of a large number of dispersed sites, each with a limited number of kids. Very few vendors in Massachusetts are capable of serving summer programs because they require a large fleet of trucks, a sizable staff, a lot of customer service support and a very flexible kitchen (or kitchens). Stock Pot Malden is one of the leading Massachusetts vendors serving summer programs.
For Large City-Administered Summer Programs
Large city-administered summer programs pick Stock Pot Malden because we have the fleet of trucks and staff to serve a large number of “open” and “closed” sites.
Our combination of a large, central kitchen in Malden and many smaller local kitchens run in cooperation with partners makes us uniquely able to deliver large and small quantities of fresh meals on-time to each of your sites.
For Smaller Summer Programs
We deliver to summer programs serving a minimum of 20 kids.
Our unique network of local kitchens and local staff enables us to serve relatively small sites, while our competition does not bother.
We strive to support anybody wanting to provide food for under-served kids during summer.
Cold Meals do not Have to Taste like Cardboard
Most summer programs can only handle cold food because they do not have refrigeration or reheating capability.
For some vendors, this means trying to get away with low-quality sandwiches and limited variety.
We offer a wide array of tasty sandwiches and rich salads that your hungry kids will get excited about.
Our Customer Service is Uniquely Flexible for Summer Meals
Summer meals require a lot of flexibility for vendors because organizers often do not know the number of kids who will be attending the program at any given time and wish to frequently change the number of meals ordered. While the flexibility of our kitchen production and delivery logistics cannot be infinite, we give you more freedom than any of our competitors in adjusting the number of meals you order throughout your program.
